Trumpet player John Skinner has led successful bands in Northern California for many years. He has also performed worldwide. As principal trumpet, John played in symphony and theater orchestras and with the Ice Follies & Ice Capades. He is a rare example of a bandleader who actually loves to dance. His wife Susan Skinner, the vocalist, dances competitively.
In both CDs Susan Skinner contributed original songs. They are "Ask Me Again In A Lifetime", a very modern rumba called "Like The Other Girls Do", and "You Rescued Me" is her Viennese Waltz. A published author, she traveled widely with Princess Diana during the 1980s. Susan's book "Diana, an English Rose" was published in 1999.
As a combo or as a big band, John Skinner's fine musicians are the star attraction at most lively public and private events. With exciting horn and rhythm sections, the band leaps from swing to latins to rock, entertaining dancers of all ages.
